For the Benefit of the World: Our Sacred Stewardship to Care for Those in Need

November 14, 2025

Call for Abstracts

Brigham Young University invites the BYU faculty to submit abstracts about scholarship related to our sacred stewardship to care for those in need. This request is an effort to explore the state of BYU research and creative works associated with caring for those in need, including work that addresses existing human needs or their root causes and scholarship related to humanitarian efforts of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Abstracts will be used to create a report on existing BYU scholarship in this area, to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among BYU faculty, and to inspire new research.

In addition to this call for abstracts, BYU will host a faculty conference called For the Benefit of the World: Our Sacred Stewardship to Care for Those in Need on November 14, 2025. All faculty with scholarship related to caring for those in need are invited to submit abstracts to this call; projects described in submitted abstracts will be eligible for poster presentation at the conference.

Faculty are encouraged to submit a related abstract regardless of their availability to attend the associated conference. Conference attendance is not required for an abstract to be included in the resulting report.
